No seriously, I’m dying to know? In the last couple years the dating app companies have been trying to crack down on fake profiles and fraud but it’s been a loosing battle.

There are different apps for different goals each user wants to accomplish. As a result I really don’t get the people who are on the legit apps acting shady, weird, can’t communicate or are just super aloof (lazy/shy/socially awkward-typing things).
If you’re on a hook-up or cheating app I do get it and those are matters that you can address as you see fit.
So that just leaves the following:
– people from 3rd world countries trying to be rescued
– prostitutes’ – escorts
– sicko’s pretending to be models or other people
– scam artists trying to get you onto Whatsapp or Telegram to ask for a gift card or cashapp/venmo
– PR companies creating temporary profiles for their clients – those are the ones that list their IG, Snap, or Twitter handle
If I had to guess: on dating apps – that set the goal as – short & long term relationships,
About 30-35% of the profiles are duds.

- For non-traditional humans, it’s a new tricky realm. No hate in my heart and every squirrel has the right to gather nuts for the long winter. My only suggestion: please keep to applications that properly identify your label / pronoun. If there are apps you like not doing that. Write them to change it. You’d be surprised.
