Weekend Cocktail Club – Don’t Drink Basic

Sorry for the delay on this. Proud to share a recipe inspired by summer time wiffleball tournaments and the need to maximize gasolina crunkness to proper hydration.

The Gatorade Margarita

This is a fun spin on a classic margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 lime wedge, plus 2 lime wheels for garnish
  • 3.5 ounces  high-quality blanco tequila (1800 Cristalino or Milagro works)
  • 1.25 ounces proper triple sec, such as Cointreau
  • 2 ounces ripe fresh juice from 2 limes or Nellie & Joe’s Key Lime
  • Floater of Lemon-Lime Gatorade

Putting this together is super easy.

  • Mix a bit of ice with the alcohols and lime juice
  • Get it very cold and strain over fresh ice and pour 3/4 of the glass full
  • Float the Gatorade with a quick stir

No salt!

No agave!

No other sweetener needed! – The magic G has that already

I know some out there might be doubting this recommendation but trust me. It’s a great turnkey cocktail you will be surprised by. Not too sweet, great balance, unexpectedly tasty + easy to drink.

Tell me how I’m doing! It’s okay to provide constructive criticism. I’m trying to get better at this.
