Weekend Cocktail Club – Don’t Drink Basic

With the holidays over a lot of you got a bottle of scotch. Hopefully it was decent (Johnny Walker or blended scotch does not count in my world) but there’s a chance either it sucks – or it’s not your jam.

If that’s the case here’s a recipe to perk things up a bit

  • 2 1/4 ounces scotch you don’t really care about
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3/4 ounce honey-ginger syrup* or <in a pinch> 3/4 ounce honey schnapps and a few pieces of candied ginger
  • Garnish: candied ginger / lemon twist

Directions:

  1. In a stirring glass put in the scotch and honey-ginger syrup
    1. ***If you are going with the honey schnapps and candied ginger stir for a minute then slightly smash and continue to stir for another 30 seconds***
  2. Ice in + lemon juice
  3. Continue to stir 30 to 45 seconds or until at least half the ice is melting and it’s super cold
  4. Stain over fresh bourbon ball ice
  5. Enjoy – Prost!
